Willie Rivers, 90, of Awendaw, SC entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11:00 am at Garden of Prayer Pentecostal Holiness Church. It is located at 2537 N Hwy 17, Mount Pleasant, SC. Interment will follow at Greater Zion A.M.E. Church cemetery located at 4174 N Highway 17, Awendaw, SC. There will be a walk-through viewing for Mr. Rivers at the Rev. Bryan McNeal, Sr. Memorial Chapel at 4129 Highway 17 North, Awendaw, SC on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 3:00-6:00. The final viewing for Mr. Rivers will be on Wednesday from 10:30-11:00 am at Garden of Prayer Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Willie, son of the late Rufus and Marie Rivers was born on January 7, 1933, in Charleston, SC. He was married to the late Ernestine Hilliard Rivers. Willie is survived by his daughter, Vickie Rivers Gibbs and son Michael Rivers (Jackie); grandchildren: Tracey Manigault, Robin Stewart, Brandon Stewart (Kelley) and Brianna Rivers; great-grandchildren: Keaira Manigault and Courtland Malvo; siblings: Oliver Rivers (Roslyn), Edward Rivers and Emily Nelson (Vernon); sisters-in-law: Mary Colleton, Carrie Hilliard and Ella Glover (Howard); brothers-in-law: John Hilliard Jr., Nathaniel Hilliard (Barbara), Franklin "Ron" Hilliard (Theresa) and special nephew David Hamilton; god-daughter: Alice Jefferson; special friends: Kim Sparkman (Michael), Carrie and the entire Citadel Barbershop family. He also leaves behind a host of sorrowful nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Harry Rivers and Nathaniel Rivers, and sister: Ethel Hamilton; brother-in-law: Bennie Hilliard and sisters-in-law: Alethia Hilliard and Brenda Hilliard;
