The Honorable Rev. William Hance Alston, 86, of Awendaw, SC entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

He leaves memories to be cherished by his children: Anita Alston-Gore, Jewel Alston-Coan (Jeffrey), Selena Jackson, Willette Alston-Hockaday (Virgil); grandchildren: Madelyn , Courtnay, Jeffrey (Jasmine), Olivia (Marcus), Lauren, Jamiel, William, Maya and Kayla; in-laws: Martha Alston, Audrey Lucas, Reather Brown, Calvin Randolph (Rose Mary), Anna Mae Randolph and Marie Randolph.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Minnie E. Randolph; parents: Warren and Rebecca Alston and brother: Timothy Alston, Sr.

Rev. Alston was a retired A.M.E. Pastor. He also retired as a Human Resources/Personnel Officer after 28 years at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and served as the 1st Mayor of Awendaw from 1992-2009.
