Mr. Wendell Bennett, 78, of Edisto Island, SC, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 16, 2025. He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Bennett; children: Joshua Bennett, Shavonna Bennett, Wendell Richardson, and Tiffany Richardson; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: Hallie Bennett, Glen Avon Bennett, Sr., Desmond Bennett (Gilda), Rodney Bennett and Ida Wright; uncle: Solomon Robinson; mother-in-law: Pearl Wright; bonus daughter: Valencia Wright; and in-laws: Calvin Wright (Georgia), Raleigh Wright (Pat), Geneva Wright, and Shirley Gadsden; special cousin and friend: Cathy Hutchinson and son: Ronnie Hutchinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his children: Reginald Richardson, Martez Bennett, and Cordell Bennett; grandson: Jaxson Bennett; parents: Glen Bennett, Sr. and Edna W. Bennett; siblings: Permon Bennett, Nathaniel Bennett, Ethel Bennett, Kathleen Bennett, Franklin Bennett, Lillian Frost, and Barbara Bennett; uncle: Ivory Robinson; and father-in-law: Isiah Wright. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Allen AME Church - Edisto Island, SC followed by the Interment at Zion Reformed Episcopal Church - Edisto Island, SC. Viewing for Mr. Bennett will take place one hour before the service.
