Mrs. Verletta A. Green Thomas, 66, of the South Santee section of McClellanville, S.C. passed away peacefully on February 5, 2022 surrounded by her family in Denver, CO. Verletta, affectionately known as "Lett '' was born to the late William and Marie Brown Green. Departing this life far too early, her family and friends find comfort knowing she is with the Lord. Verletta was the youngest of six loving sisters.
Lett's second home was her church, Heritage Chrisitan Center, in Denver CO under the late Bishop Dennis Leonard. Verletta was an obedient worker in the church. Rather serving the homeless or feeding Bishop TD Jakes, Verletta stayed humble.
Verletta retired after 20 plus years as a Para Educator at Northglenn High School in Northglenn, CO. During her years there, she became the sponsor of a multicultural club called, DaTruth. She also started a STEP Team, Untraceable Talent, and a Dance Club - DaTruth Dance Squad. Lett also turned a small pantry of food into an entire classroom designed to feed and clothe families in need. A scholarship has been named in her memory.
Verletta is survived by her loving husband: Ronald L. Thomas; daughters: Naima and Monique and son: Jarrod Thomas; 3 grandchildren: Torian, Ayanna, and Jaden; her surviving five siblings and their spouses: Jane G. Lloyd, Dorothy M. Green (John Baker), Evon Green, A. Delories Green Sanders (Steve) and Barbara J. Bryant (Jerome); nieces, nephews and an army of cousins and other relatives.
