Ms. Roberta Mae Frasier

Ms. Roberta Mae Frasier was born May 27, 1949, in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Ernest W. and Estelle Gruber Frasier. The youngest of six children and a twin. She was educated in the Charleston County public schools and graduated from Burke High School, Class of 1967. Roberta earned a Bachelor of Art degree in History with a minor in Education from Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama. She went on to complete a Master of Arts degree in Education at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Roberta’s passion for children and education led her to dedicate 30 plus years to Charleston School system. Her commitment to education and growth reflects in her involvement with the National Association of Curriculum Development, South Carolina Association of School Administrators, South Carolina Leadership Academy, Junior Achievement Advisor, and PTSA Executive Board at Haut Gap Middle School. Even after retirement, Roberta continued to share her love for learning by volunteering at the South Carolina Aquarium, where she read stories and provided adventures for the youth. Roberta's affiliations were numerous and impactful. She was a proud member of the Gamma Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the National Council of Negro Women, the Board of Directors at the Avery Institute of Afro-American History and Culture, the College of Charleston Education Department Review Panel, the National Educational Association, South Carolina Expo for Teacher Recruitment and served as an Administrative Mentor for the State Department of Education. For over 60 years, Roberta was a devoted member of Mt Zion AME Church. Under the leadership of Pastor Kylon Middleton and Pastor Linda Chisolm, she served as Superintendent of Sunday School, participated in the Impossible Fellowship Organization, and served as an Usher. Her dedication to worship and teaching Sunday School was unwavering, and she always found joy in expanding the minds of the youth. On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Roberta transitioned from this earthly life to eternal glory to join her parents, four brothers (Ernest W. Frasier, Jr., Larone F. Frasier, Tyrone F. Frasier, and Robert Edward Frasier) and sister (Estelle L. Frasier-Bethea). She leaves to cherish her memories, nieces: Karen Holmes (Willmin); Shawnette Hardiman (Anthony), Tracy Frasier-Muldoon (Kurt), Ladawn Frasier, Ruthie Seabrook, Chanda Bethea and Treasure Frasier-Magsi and nephews: Travis Frasier and Robert Eugene Frasier. She has a host of grand and great grand nieces and nephews and relatives and friends. PUBLIC VIEWING Saturday, February 28th from 12:00 PM -2:00PM at Mt.
