Ms. Phyllis Mae Burris Simmons, 82, of McClellanville, SC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 17, 2023. The family will have a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. The Interment will follow in the Church's Cemetery. Viewing for Mrs. Simmons will take place on Friday, June 23, 2023, 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. The Viewing and the Service will be held at Tibwin A.M.E. Church located at 9442 Highway 17 North, McClellanville, SC 29458. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her children: Yvonne Simmons and Julanda Nelson; grandchildren: Donte' Richardson, Zuri Nelson, and Anthony Nelson, Jr.; siblings: Etta (Clinton) Ferrell, Willie Burris, Lonnie Burris, and Dwayne Burris; aunt: Frenza Russell; sisters-in-law: Gloria Simmons, Sally Mitchell, Mary Myers, Esthermae Burris, and Willamae Burris; brothers-in-law: Melvin Simmons, Charles Myers, Sr., and Robert Lee Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur Simmons and parents: Willie Burris, Sr. and Eliza Rodgers.
