Ms. Pamela Laverne Morgan, 59, entered into eternal rest.
Pamela's Story
Hey, y'all wanted to know who I am - I am PAMELA LAVERNE MORGAN, the third daughter of Shirley & Harold Morgan. My father would call me 'Juggernaut' — meaning: anyone who seems unstoppable, powerful & dominant, that's me! I might have been stubborn, belligerent, and sometimes downright RUDE, but I knew what I wanted, when I wanted it and how I wanted it to be done. I stood by my convictions, be it a human or an animal.
In growing up, I felt so out of place in the pecking order – there was Carlos, Bruce, then me, and finally Cliff. In growing up, I did everything that my brothers did, from spinning tops to playing handball, just like one of the guys. Sometimes I thought I was too much to handle, but did I care? NO, because I am and will always be PAMELA! One thing about me is that I may not be understood by many, but I will be heard, no matter how you might have felt about me.
I received my bachelor's Degree later in life from Empire State College. I went there to do some graduate work as well. I had to put graduate school on hold to get a job as a medical representative instead of teaching–which was my passion. I enjoyed imparting words of wisdom that were given to me during my journey in life. As a child and as an adult, I would like to be remembered for my witty personality, my fiesty and fiery spirit, my cool demeanor, and my intellectual conversations. In traveling on this passage through life, I tried to fulfill the richness and the potential that God has blessed me with. Every time I stumbled during my journey and fell, I got up because "A saint is just a sinner who fell down, and then got up."
And that is why I am and will always be loved by many. I wouldn't be me if it wasn't for my persistent personality. Despite my faults, and there were a few, I loved and appreciated everyone, especially my family. My mom, Shirley; my son, Yusef and his wife, Karlise; my grandson, Yusef Kareem (deceased); my brothers, Carlos, Bruce and Clifford; and sisters: Marilyn Morgan-Muslim and Cynica Hairston (deceased); aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends, especially Darryl Green. I want you to always carry this mantra that I leave for you:
"ALWAYS STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE, BE STEADFAST IN PRAYER, UNMOVABLE IN FAITH, AND ALWAYS ABIDING IN THE WORDS OF THE CREATOR".
QUEEN PAMELA
