Mrs. Mary Frances Rue Wright Ward, 83, of Charleston, SC entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

Mrs. Ward leaves to cherish her memories her children: Terry Williams (Derrick), Clarence Ward (Maria), Michael Ward (Deanita), Larry Ward, and Mark Ward; grandchildren: Tarsha Ward Campbell (Paul), Michael Ward (Grace), Tanisha Ward, Dynisha Ward, Markell Ward, and Trinity Ward; siblings: Robert Wright, Cynthia Simmons, Delores Johnson, and Nathan Wright; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mae Ward (the late William), Berthel Ward (Thomas), Beatrice LaBoard (Thomas), Cheryl LaBoard (the late Walter), Brenda Hunt (Darrell); and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ward; parents: Arthur Wright and Dorothy Juanita Wright; grandson, Mark Ward; and siblings: Joseph Tolbert and Arthur Wright.

Mrs. Ward dedicated more than 20 years of service to the State of SC as a Nurse's Aide and Supervisor before retiring. She was a faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Charleston, where she served as Youth Choir Director, Class Leader, Steward Pro Tem and Voter Registration Representative. She actively participated as Chairperson of many fundraising events in church and NAACP where she held various other roles including the position as President for the North Charleston Branch.
