Mr. Joseph Alston, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 7, 2023. He is survived by his children: Steven Alston (Alfreda), Harvey Alston (Shawndell), and Levi Alston (Shawntay); grandchildren: Jonette Watson (Alec), Sheniece Gibbs (Julius), Steven Brown, Ebony Alston, Courtney Alston, Deangelo Brown, Donald Capers, Jr., Devonte Capers, Harvey D. Alston, Tory Collins, Tyrell Collins, and Sariyanah Garrett; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings: Raymond Alston (late, Nancy), Simon Alston, Edward Alston (Edna), Sabena Donaldson (late, Steven), Marie Alston and Sheila Alston Mack (Minister Virgil); two very special friends; brother-in-law: Abraham Wright; and son-in-law: Donald Capers. He was predeceased in death by his wife: Jeanette Alston; daughter: Gwendolyn Capers (Donald); parents: Peter Alston and Louise Alston Gillyard; siblings: Alvin Alston and Wesley Alston;
mother-in-law: Julia McBride; father-in-law: William McBride; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Wright (J.D.), Nancy Alston, and Mary Lee Wilson (Charlie).
