Mr. John Wright, Jr., 97, of the 10-mile community of Awendaw, SC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 18, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Yvonne Wright Thomas, Alifay Wright Edwards, Carolyn Wright Bennett (Jerome); grandchildren: Thomas, Jr., Patrice, Tracie, Sonya, Teryn, Timothy, Lionel Jr., Ivan, Tara, Robyn, Tiffany, Jonathan, and Myisheia; 35 great-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings: Abraham Wright, Sr., Janie Wright Matthews, Betty Wright White (Frank), Elizabeth Wright Coleman, Pauline E. Wright, Arthur Lee Wright (Katie), Joann Wright Howard and Louis "Tex" Wright, and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Estelle P. Wright and parents: John Sr., and Evelina Mitchell Wright.
He was a retired Naval Shipyard Employee.
