Mr. Joe Louis Mitchell, Sr., 84, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Residence: Awendaw, SC. He is survived by his son, Joe Louis Mitchell, Jr. (Angela) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; siblings, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Dorothy M. Washington-Mitchell and two infant children, Arnold and Kimberly Mitchell.

He retired from the International Longshoremen Association after working over 45 years.

Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM - Greater Zion AME Church Cemetery - 4174 Highway 17 North - Awendaw, SC 29429.
