Mr. James Nelson, Jr., 73 of the Snowden Community of Mt. Pleasant, SC entered eternal rest on Monday, January 30, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: Janie Coakley Nelson; step-children: Angela Coakley Behrens and Kenneth Rainey; grandchildren: Brittney Coakley, Peyton Behrens, Kenneth Rainey, Dominique Coakley and Darell Milligan; siblings: William Barnwell, Jack Nelson, Mary McAllister, Kathleen Manigault, Lavitha Foy, and Leroy Seabrook; Sisters-in-law: Diane Ulmer and Barbara Coakley; brothers-in-law: Jackie Coakley, and Bobby Coakley (Cynthia), and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James Nelson, Sr. and Lavinia Barnwell Nelson; siblings: Alex Nelson, Benjamin Nelson and Harriett Pinckney; brother-in-law: Robert Coakley, Jr.

He was a Retired Construction Maintenance Worker I with the Charleston County Public Works Department.
