Mrs. Helen W. Whatley, 78, of James Island, SC entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

Mrs. Whatley leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jesse Whatley; children, Akinru J. Whatley (Yvette) and Yaw Whatley; siblings: Harriet W. Wilder (Harrison, Jr.), Benjamin N. White (Joyce), Alvena P. Wilson, and Cherlyn W. Monroe; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah White and T.J. Boyd; aunt, Ethel W. Goodwine; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin White, Jr. and Mildred E. White; siblings, Robert F. White and Carleen W. Boyd; and grand-nephew: Nygel B. Covington.

The family of Mrs. Whatley will be receiving friends at her home, 8 Willingham Ct., Charleston, SC 29412 beginning on Wednesday, September 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, and ending on Thursday, September 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
