Mr. Daniel Wilson

Mr. Daniel Wilson, 69, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, SC, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 4, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Felicia A. Wilson; daughter: Whitney N. Wilson; siblings: Hattie W. Brown, Lorraine McLaurin, Jane (Jayne) A. Roper, Benjamin D. Wilson, and Doris Green; sisters-in-law: Manuela Burac, Ileana Burac, Daira Burac Isnard, Magali Burac de Rovira; brothers-in-law: Manuel Burac and Miguel Burac. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Jayna Alissa Wilson; parents: Solomon Mazyck, Jr. and Hattie Mae Wilson; brother: Charles Mazyck; mother-in-law: Ester de Burac; father-in-law: Isidoro Burac; and sister-in-law: Diana Matilde Burac. Daniel Wilson, affectionately known as “Danny,” was born on April 14, 1956, in the Bronx, New York. At the age of two, he relocated with his mother to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, where he attended local schools. In 1979, Danny gave his life to God and began serving on the Junior Usher Board until he enlisted in the United States Army. His military career spanned 21 years of honorable and dedicated service. Danny became a leader, mentor, and role model—helping to shape and inspire the careers of many. His service took him to Germany, Panama, and Korea. While stationed in Panama, he met the love of his life, Felicia Wilson. In less than three months, they were married and began their journey together, building a life filled with love and commitment for 43 years. They welcomed two daughters: Whitney Nicole Wilson in 1985, followed by Jayna A. Wilson in 1989. In 1995, they endured the heartbreaking loss of Jayna to leukemia at the age of six. Through faith, love, and God at the forefront, the family honored Jayna’s memory and pressed forward together. After retiring from active duty in 1996, Danny briefly worked for the U.S. Postal Service before returning to serve as a civilian Bradley Training Instructor at Fort Knox and Fort Benning Army bases. He retired again in 2020 and settled in Panama, enjoying the retirement life alongside Felicia. Danny loved watching sports, grilling on holidays, hosting family cookouts, and spending time with his loved ones. He also had a deep love for music, especially jazz, which often filled his home with warmth and joy. Danny leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 43 years, Felicia; his loving daughter, Whitney Nicole Wilson (Kirk Raphiel); four sisters, Hattie W. Brown (Arthur), Jayne Wilson, Lorraine Mclarin (Quentis), and Dorris Green (Joe deceased); and one brother, Benjamin Wilson (Jackie). He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie Mae Wilson and Solomon Mazyck, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Ester de Burac; father-in-law, Isidoro Burac; his beloved daughter, Jayna A. Wilson; and his brother, Charles Mazyck. On August 4, 2025, Danny answered the call of our Heavenly Father to dwell in eternity. He will be remembered as a man devoted to his faith, family, military service, and community—leaving behind a legacy of love, honor, and service.
