Norwood was special, he lived his life with passion. He graduated from Cainhoy Elementary & High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Tyler Texas in Accounting. He was a Master Printer in Obituaries for Smith-McNeal Funeral Home and Scott’s Mortuary. He was the printer for the community. He skillfully created wedding invitations, bookmarks, and special birthday cards. He loved meeting with the families of the deceased. He made them feel special. In days of technology when you could do a lot online, Norwood went to their homes to get the history, pictures, and returned again for their approval before printing the final draft. He would travel many miles several times a week. He was an Auditor/Accountant for many years for a couple of hotels in Charleston and the surrounding areas. They wanted only Norwood to manage their books. He loved the work, and did it professionally, and with pride. He was well loved by his family and communities near and far. His classmates of Cainhoy and The University of Tyler Texas loved him dearly. He was a faithful member of Azalea Drive Church of Christ in Charleston, SC. Norwood, as he was affectionately called, was loved deeply by his siblings: Beatrice McGirth, of Huger, SC; Carolyn Smalls Goodson, Leon Smalls and Samuel Smalls, of Philadelphia, PA; and Jessie Smalls (Ethaine) and Nathan Smalls, of Charleston, SC.
