Mrs. Lorene Whaley, 79, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 25, 2019. Residence: 1778 Sugarpond Road, Edisto Island, SC 29438. The relatives and friends of Mrs. Whaley are invited to attend her funeral services on Friday, March 1, 2019 11:00 AM at New First Missionary Baptist Church, 1644 Highway 174, Edisto Island, SC 29438. Interment: Church cemetery. Mrs. Whaley is survived by her children: Ms. Karen Whaley Smalls and Mr. Kirk Whaley (Deborah); siblings: Mr. Walter Wright, Sr. (Celestine), Mrs. Doris Miles (Harold) and Ms. Ella Bligen; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dapheny Whaley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Marion Whaley; parents: Mr. and Mrs. James and Edith Williams Wright; and son, Mr. Kevin Whaley. Viewing for Mrs. Whaley will be on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 3:30 to 7:00 PM at The William M. Smith Memorial Chapel, 2 Radcliffe St., Charleston, SC 29403.
