Ms. Geraldine Elizabeth Flowers was born, April 4, 1929, to Ellie Louise Flowers Deas and Benjamin Franklin Keith, Sr. in Georgetown, SC. She departed this life on Monday, February 22, 2021. Geraldine was a graduate of Howard High School in Georgetown, SC and was a resident of Charleston, SC for over 70 years. She was formerly employed by The Ashley House. Ms. Flowers is survived by her children: Kalem Umrani, Herchula Cooper, Larry Hawkins, Theodora Flowers, Ronald Flowers, Richard (Kimberly) Flowers, Kenneth Green, and Sonja (Donan) Chicot; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by five sons: Durant Flowers, Olin Tucker, Samuel Frayer, Jr., Anthony Tucker, and Daniel Flowers. Viewing for Ms. Flowers will be on Monday, March 1, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Smith-McNeal Funeral Home, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29405. The family of Geraldine Flowers will celebrate her life at a Private Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the Smith-McNeal Funeral Chapel. The family requests, due to COVID-19 rules, that there be no visits to the residence.
