Ms. Alice Jeanette Leban, 76, of Charleston SC, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom. She is survived by her husband: Harold Leban; daughter: Tracey Coleman (Parker); grandchildren: Parker Coleman, Ashley Outing (LaMarcus), and great granddaughter Sydney Outing; siblings: Janie, and Amanda Cave. She was a Counselor and Substitute Teacher. She was the daughter of the late Alphonso and Reatha Cave. She fell asleep in death on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Alice attended Charles A. Brown High School in Charleston. Her profession was a Substitute Teacher and Counselor. She really enjoyed helping people. Alice enjoyed mostly spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews when they were growing up. Her house was the place to be for the kids. She looked forward to the summer breaks when the grandchildren spent time with her. She was very passionate about spending time in the ministry and teaching others to come to know Jehovah. She was known for helping others in any way that she could. Although she had her health challenges, she was always willing to lend a hand or an ear if needed. Alice also love to cook and have friends over to eat and play a card game of Bid Whist. And, we can’t forget about her love for eating crabs! She loved her crabs! She was preceded in death by both of her parents, the late Alphonso and Reatha Cave; her only son: the late Dominique “Donald” Manigault Cave; two sisters: the late Helen Smith and the late Stacey “Bonnie” Cave. She is survived by her husband: Harold Leban of California; her Loving and devoted daughter: Tracey (Parker) Coleman of Indian Land, SC; two grandchildren: Parker Coleman and Ashley (LaMarcus) Outing of Lancaster, SC; her only great-granddaughter: Sydney Outing of Lancaster, SC; two sisters: Janie Cave and Amanda Cave, both of Charleston, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends including special mention of Sandye Stephens, Nora Broderick and Wilhelmenia Boston. From her grandchildren, Parker Coleman and Ashley Outing in their words: “Nanna, as we affectionately called her, was the matriarch of our family and without her there would be no us. She always provided love and support for her family. We are eternally blessed to have been able to spend as much time as possible with Nanna. We are so happy that we share nothing but the fondest of memories of you, and Sydney will also remember experiencing your unconditional love. There was no quit in Nanna. Through her, we’ve learned what perseverance and resilience truly looks like and mean. Her joy for life along with her love of Jehovah, family and friends kept her pushing through her pain. We will always hold you in our memories and we will continue to be grateful for the valuable lessons that you’ve taught us. There will never be enough words to describe how much we love and miss you.” Alice was very special to her nieces and nephews. Here is what they said collectively: “Aunties are SPECIAL. You’ve influenced us to be the best we can be and to love Jehovah. More than an aunt (another mother to us). We are so thankful we have a lot of beautiful memories that we all will cherish. I am so grateful my children had the privilege to witness all the fun times you shared with them as you did with us. (Cherished moments with CeCe and Gabby) coming to Charleston every summer, eating crabs, playing cards, spending nights with you, watching movies, eating popcorn and making memories. We love you, Aunt Jeanette. Thank you to our special friends/family who became that and more over the years (Nora, Sand, Gail and too many to name). We know your beautiful sisters, Janie and Amanda Cave can’t wait to see you again in paradise.” You will always be missed and loved by your nieces and nephews, Aunt Jeanette: Angie, Tameika, Randy, Mariesha (Chad), Nicholas and Sharetha; grandnieces and grandnephews: CeCe, Gabby and C.J.
