Mr. Duane Anthony Goodman

Duane Anthony Goodman, AKA, Inky, Bubba, and EL Supremo formerly of Johns Island, SC. was born, on February 10, 1955, in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to the late James Goodman (Concord NC) and the late Virginia Brown Morgan (Charleston, SC). The family will have a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 180 Romney Street, Charleston, SC. Rev. Herbert A. Harvey, Host Pastor and Rev. Anthony B. Thompson, Officiant / Eulogist. At the time of his passing, Duane was a resident of Opa Locka. Florida. Duane entered eternal rest on June 5, 2023, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Duane received his education in the high school of John’s Island, SC. He matriculated to Wilberforce University in Wilberforce Ohio, where he received the BS Degree in Political Science and Economics. He was in the Class of “77”. Dwayne furthered his studies at Laredo State University in Laredo, Texas, where he received a Master’s degree in Import and Export in 1993. Duane’s occupations include Social Service, Hospitality, Entrepreneurship, and eventually starting Goodman’s Import. Duane was a member of numerous Fraternal Organizations. They include the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Upsilon Chapter in 1974 at Wilberforce University, Prince Hall Affiliated Masonic organization, Wilberforce Lodge #21, Wilberforce Ohio, Consistory, 32nd Degree and Akbar Temple #41, A.E.A.O.N.M.S. both Consistory and Shriners in Springfield, Ohio in1977; New Provident Lodge #365 in Miami, FL. His last Church affiliation was, Walking by Faith Ministries, Hialeah, Florida. Duane was always known for his sense of humor, his memory of recalling events, and his command of knowledge on different subjects. He leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings: Darryl Goodman: sisters: Linda G. Lynah, Trudy (Joseph) Simmons; and brother: Keith (Nyra) Morgan. Duane will also be missed greatly by his aunts: Gladys Harvey of Charleston, SC, Barber Crumbly of San Deigo, California, Mary Brown of James Island, SC, and Joan West Goodman of Concord, NC; niece: Treyonna Alston of Charleston, SC; nephews: Jerron Lynah of Philadelphia, PA; Jacoby Alston of Charleston, SC, Keith Morgan, Jr. of Maryland, Chris Morgan and Brandon Morgan both Orlando, FL; and a host of other family, friends, and others who knew Him.
