Ms. Cynthia Hamilton

Ms. Cynthia Hamilton, 66, of Natick, MA, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Cynthia Hamilton was born September 21, 1955, to the late James and Lether Bell Hamilton. She was the youngest of five siblings, raised in a Christian home where the knowledge and love of God was demonstrated. Known for her gentle spirit and a sweet smile, she still held her ground in any group, particularly with her siblings. Cynthia was the proud mother of her only child, Brian whom she loved and cherished. She considered Brian God's greatest gift to her and being his mother, her greatest honor. With faith and determination, she encouraged him, instilling self-respect, and Christian values. She made sure family was an integral part of their lives. She loved her family dearly and was always appreciative of their love and support. Cynthia was educated in the Charleston, SC public schools and attended Boston Business School in Boston, MA. She moved from Charleston to Boston in 1975. She was employed by the Zayre Department Store, Rite Aid Pharmacy and ultimately, by BJ's Wholesale Club in Framingham, as a Supervisor and SCAN Coordinator for 26 years. She was truly a dedicated and conscientious worker. Cynthia loved the Lord and served others with her whole heart. Her generosity came out of her loving gratitude to God for His blessings in her life. As a member of Greater Framington Community Church, she became a Junior Church teacher. She considered teaching the students and shopping for their snacks, a happy privilege. She felt the same about the Annual Women's Retreat, which she eagerly attended in order to refuel, refresh and regroup. Christmas was Cynthia's favorite holiday. She shopped for it all year long! She relished her annual All-Day Christmas Shopping with her sister Lula. She gleefully looked forward to the family Christmas celebrations which occurred in three different homes; the Evelyn's, the Cummings-Plummer's, and the Hamilton's. Cynthia was known as the "Toy Auntie" because she gave the best gifts, especially to her young nieces and nephews. Usually, Christmas was celebrated in the New England area, but one summer, Cynthia surprised the family: She packed up Christmas gifts and celebrated Christmas in Charleston, SC, in July! Cynthia had a great sense of humor and many interests. In particular, she enjoyed reading, watching movies, watching tennis, notably Serena Williams, baseball, especially the New York Yankees, and Tweety Bird, the famous Looney Toons character. Perhaps the Tweety Bird character amused her because she, herself, was as unflappable, understatedly sassy and endearing as Tweety Bird. Serena Williams' tenaciousness on the court mirrored Cynthia's own tenaciousness in life. She was an enthusiastic supporter and loyal member of the Serena Williams fan club, and even while living in the heart and home of the Red Sox Nation, she boldly defended the New York Yankees. Cynthia was preceded in death by her two sisters, Clara Mae Mitchell, Thelma Hamilton President, brother-in-law, Willie President, and niece, Talwanna President. Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Brian Michael Hamilton of Natick; one brother, James A. Hamilton, of Boston; one sister: Lula Hamilton-Evelyn (Robert) of Framingham; neices and nephews: Jeanette Mitchell Tolbert of Charleston, SC, Tonatte Mitchell of Goose Creek, SC, Michael Mitchell (Jennie) of Charlotte, NC, Allen Mitchell (April) of Richmond, VA, James Hamilton (Lucy) of Berwick, Maine, Jennifer Hamilton (Phoebe) of Eastham, MA, Jacqueline Holton (Aaron) of Smyrna, GA, Jamaal President of Charleston, SC, Kim Wright of Washington, DC and Jared Evelyn of Framingham, MA; and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and good friends; Kellie Barrett and Donna Parks.
