Mr. Clarence Melvin Nelson II

The family of Clarence Melvin Nelson, II extends an invitation to you to join them for a Memorial Service on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith-McNeal Funeral Chapel - 2119 Dorchester Road - N. Charleston, SC 29405. Clarence Melvin Nelson, II was born October 21,1966 to the late Clarence Melvin Nelson and Mrs. Sandra Nelson Madison in Charleston, South Carolina. God dispatched His good angels before sunrise on Thursday, March 2, 2023 to Roper St. Francis Hospital to reunite His beloved child with his heavenly family. Clarence resided in the Charleston Tri County area most of his life. As an adult he lived in Goose Creek, South Carolina until his hospitalization on Saturday, February 18th. He was a committed and active member of Faith Church (Summerville, SC) under the guidance of Pastors Larry & Jeanne Burgbacher. He enjoyed uniting with his brothers in Christ in the Men’s Breakfast Prayer Group and serving as a doorkeeper in God’s house. He was admired by many. His motivating mantra was the Golden Rule; “do unto to others as you would have them do unto you”. His wit and desire to help his fellow man won the compassion of family and friends alike. Over the years he learned and believed to put his faith and trust in God, regardless of his circumstances. As a Believer, he fasted and prayed for the complete healing of his mother, opportunities to spend more time in prayer and understanding of God’s Word. Clarence graduated from Goose Creek High School. He was employed by United Parcel Service as a delivery driver, Direct Link, Lowe’s and Stokes Volkswagen Dealership in North Charleston, South Carolina. He enjoyed working with and meeting people in every aspect of his life. On December 31, 2015, Clarence united in holy matrimony with Jeanette V. Thomas. We thank God for the wonderful memories made with Clarence. These loving memories are cherished by his uncle, Aubrey Marion (Aracelly), aunt, Ms. Gail Marion Blair; aunt, Carmen Marion Johnson; uncle, Raymond Burch; uncle, the late Samuel R. Marion, Jr. (Ruth); cousins, Surena M. Cohen (Adam), Rianna M. Hannigan, Larissa Gonzales, Amy Gonzales, Shayna Blair-Chisolm (Eric), Traci M. Wilson, Terrance Johnson, James Johnson (Francis), Kim Marion, Samantha Marion and Robin Marion Jackson (Damian); and special friends, Shawn Adams, Mrs. Debbie Ross, Gregg Thompson, along with a host of relatives and friends.
